Bilateral cooperation, Middle East situation approached by ForMin Comanescu in Jordan

Bilateral cooperation, along Middle East evolutions were topics tackled by the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister, Lazar Comanescu and dignitaries of Amman, during his visit on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

According to a release by the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), sent to AGERPRES, Comanescu has had meetings with the President of the Jordanian Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Nasser Judeh as well as with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of State for Investment Affairs, Jawad Anani.

"Talks with (...) Nasser Judeh focused on the ways of consolidation and furthering bilateral cooperation and very good relations between Romania and Jordan. The parties expressed their interest to increase the commercial exchanges, to develop new cooperation projects in sectors such as the IT&C, health care, agriculture, energy, education, tourism, etc.The heads of diplomacy of the two states have also analysed the cooperation in regional context and exchanged opinions on the evolutions in the Middle East, such as the refugees' problematic, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the crises in Syria and Iraq, and the need to combat terrorism and radicalisation," the MAE release specifies.

The Romanian chief diplomat particularly talked with Faisal Al-Fayez about the development of parliamentary diplomacy. In the context, Comanescu once again formulated the invitation by the Romanian President to the Hashemite sovereign to visit our country.

During the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of State for Investment Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Jawad Anani, approached were especially aspects in connection with the economic bilateral cooperation, being analysed the most efficient ways of development of a comprehensive framework capable to lead to the deepening and diversification of the Romanian-Jordanian economic relations. At end-meeting, in the presence of the two dignitaries was inked the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, by the two bodies' president," says MAE.
